Bloomfield Industries: Now in Its Full Bloom in Beverage Equipment Market

Based in Vacaville, California, Bloomfield Industries has been manufacturing hot beverage equipment and parts since 1961. The company started business in 1933 initially with display cases and pie cases, followed by small ware products like sugar pourers and salt shakers. With continuous expansion blended with innovation, Bloomfield Industries swiftly grew into a giant supplying basic food service equipment, from can openers to coffee pots. The company had around 1,000 different items at its peak, most with today's famous and well-respected stainless steel construction. At present, Bloomfield coffee brewers, Bloomfield coffee makers, and accessories reflect the quality and stylish design of years of experience.

A Quick History of Bloomfield Industries

Samuel Bloomfield established Bloomfield Industries in 1933 in Chicago. With his sons, Daniel and Harold, Samuel Bloomfield rapidly expanded the business, enlarging its 2000-square foot manufacturing facility until 1941. When World War II broke out, the company extended its product line to support the American Army with durable small wares. After Samuel Bloomfield's death in 1954, the two brothers took over the business. They expanded the product line of kitchen utensils to several hundred.

The year 1961 marks a turning point in the success story of Bloomfield Industries. The Bloomfields acquired the commercial division of the Proctor-Silex Company and added the Bloomfield coffee brewers to their already record-breaking product offering. In 1962, Bloomfield Industries' motto of manufacturing "keys to the kitchen" was in its full bloom with record sales in consumer products for five years back to back. By that year, the company had reached record sales. It gained fame with products in four categories: Bloomfield foodservice equipment, Hosp-I-Ware hospital supplies, Bi-Cor stainless steel housewares, and Silex coffee making equipment.

In the following years, Bloomfield Industries was acquired first by Beatrice Foods Company and then by Specialty Equipment Companies, Inc. During this time, the company emerged as a leading manufacturer of countertop electrical products under the banner of Specialty Equipment Companies. However, it continued to furnish Bloomfield coffee brewers independently and became one of the top suppliers of hot beverage equipment.

Today Bloomfield Industries continues to supply deluxe beverage equipment under the corporate umbrella of Wells Bloomfield, LLC. Although the company has manufactured a multitude of "keys to the kitchen," Bloomfield coffee makers have always remained its major product. Along with 25 spots throughout the USA, Bloomfield also has offices in Holland and Taiwan to cater to international markets.

Stylish Bloomfield Industries Product Line

From small wares to electric appliances, Bloomfield Industries has constantly achieved a perfect mix of quality construction and sleek look in its products. It aimed to present a "superb table service – every item fit for a king and queen," as uttered in its 1965 promotional film. This focus on appearance originated from Daniel Bloomfield's appreciation of design and style. Back in 1962, when the company hit the top, he said in the Tribune, "Any piece of equipment the customer sees in a restaurant should please the eye."

Bloomfield Industries has provided modern beverage equipment, and a good example is the Bloomfield ECO Brewers. The patented EBC Brewers provide precise brewing temperatures with the in-house Electronic Brewer Control technology. Bloomfield's decanter and thermal eco brewers blend innovative eco-friendly technology in a chic look, and these machines make brewing simple with a brewing time of 7 minutes. Plus, the After Hours Mode saves energy and increases machine lifetime by automatically decreasing water temperature when not in use.

Bloomfield Pour Over Brewers are ideal for businesses with limited counter space. These machines' proven, patented water delivery system ensures that a precise amount of water is spread over the coffee beans at each brew cycle. The system allows for complete saturation of coffee to absorb the rich essence of every bean. The Bloomfield Traditional Auto Brewer series include high-volume airpot and thermal style brewers and low-profile decanter style brewers. All the EBC, Pour Over, and Traditional Auto brewers have up to 3 warmers.

Bloomfield Industries also offers Bloomfield Tea Brewers that stand out with their ease of operation. The self-contained Iced Tea Concentrate Dispensers come with 2 or 3-head options, and they are perfect for self-serve stations and takeout restaurants. They are sure to boost ice tea sales with their attractive and colorful design. Other Bloomfield beverage equipment includes coffee and tea servers and decanters. Most Bloomfield coffee machine parts have standard features compatible with almost all the coffee brewer and tea equipment models.
