Garland Cooking Equipment is a trusted commercial kitchen equipment manufacturer headquartered in Ontario, Canada. Operating under the corporate banner of Welbilt Company, the brand has been providing high-quality ranges, convection ovens, induction cooking equipment, fryers, griddles, and broilers. Garland places the kitchen at the heart of a foodservice business because the magic of creating delectable dishes out of ordinary ingredients takes place in the kitchen. For Garland Group, the magician in the kitchen is the cooking equipment. Therefore, Garland commercial ranges, countertops, and ovens aim to maximize cook times and quality and minimize energy use.
The history of Garland Cooking Equipment commenced in 1864 when the Garland Line was established as a small business in Detroit. The young but passionate enterprise clung to a dream: to manufacture the world's best stoves and ranges, working tirelessly with the motto of "Bring your passion to the surface." 1873 marks the early successful attempts of bringing passion to the surface, the first giant step toward becoming a world leader. The startup Garland Line grew into Michigan Stove Company, delivering more than 200 Garland commercial stoves.
Garland Cooking Equipment's legacy took a different direction in the first half of the twentieth century. Michigan Stove Company married to Detroit Stove Works. The Garland Line continued its production of Garland commercial ranges and stoves with the original Garland brand name. In 1953, an independent manufacturing facility in Toronto, Ontario, was dedicated to Garland's ground-breaking stoves and ranges. Three years later, the Garland Line was acquired by Welbilt Company. Welbilt carried Garland's US production to Maspeth, NY, allowing the Canadian facility to continue growth in Toronto.
Relying on Welbilt's culinary expertise, engineering experience, and industry insights, the company evolved into Garland Commercial Industries operating in Pennsylvania in 1973. Finally, the Garland Group was established in 1995. Today, the company still carries out its business operations as a member of the internationally-recognized Welbilt family together with other leading foodservice equipment manufacturers, each holding number one or two positions in their product segments.
Ways of cooking have become more versatile and operating a food service business more demanding since the first Garland commercial ranges. Today's space limitations, cost-efficiency, and changing customer expectations motivate operators to choose equipment that can cook high volumes in minimum footprint without sacrificing flavor. Garland Group has managed to remain responsive to such developments by introducing time and money-saving products into the market. This success did not go unnoticed. Here are some of the Group's award-winning contributions in recent years.
Garland Cooking Equipment has a full line of broilers, from cheesemelters, countertop broilers, and salamanders to range match charbroilers and heavy-duty upright broilers.
