Texican specialty products were funded in 1987 by the respectful owner Don Spilger. He had created the company in order to better address the storage needs of tortilla chips as well as the heating and serving of them. Back then corn Tortilla chips were only offered in Mexican food restaurants. At the time, they would need to custom build the heated drawer to keep them fresh and use heat lamps or bun warmers so the drawer wouldn’t get cold. These were very high maintenance and cost a lot to the operator which was not very welcome by the industry and also were not very sanitary to keep the food in.

After Mr. Spilger realized the needed a different way of keeping and heating the chips, he decided to build a durable, easy to clean and maintain dispenser with minimum chip breakage. H invented the first Texican Tostada Dispenser for the food industry in 1989 in Houston, TX and it was really loved by the industry. He clearly made something that was very needed and super new. Everyone immediately knew they had never seen anything like it before.

It was seen as a brilliant idea to keep and heat the chips all in one place that was clean and provided protection, so the chips won't break.  But a great idea is only a great idea if you know how to sell it. After a couple of years of not doing as well as they would have liked, Texican Tostada Dispensers gained a deserved reputation as a great, durable, high-quality product. It was then known as the best way to store and serve tortilla chips. They now manufacture a great variety of cabinets for chips and other types of foods. The cabinets are all designed to provide the server with multiple options that work better for them than the ancient ways.
