Glass Rack Dollies

What is a Glass Rack Dolly?

A glass rack dolly is a commercial kitchen transportation equipment that moves fragile glassware safely with less labor and more security.

Features of Glass Rack Dollies

Glass rack dollies are engineered to enhance the safety and carrying glassware with the features below:

• Glass rack dollies have four caster wheels (mostly with a 5" (12.7 cm) diameter size), allowing you to streamline your workflow by minimizing the duration spent going back and forth between the dishwashing station and the service area.
• They are made of aluminum or stainless steel construction to resist corrosion and rust in commercial settings.
• They have a 1" or 1-1/2" (2.54 or 3.81 cm) lip on the sides to safely keep the racks in place and prevent spills on the floor.
• They come with corner bumpers to protect the wall, doors, and other equipment from beatings that may otherwise damage.
• Glass rack dollies have brakes to enable you to lock the wheels during loading and unloading.

FAQs About Glass Rack Dollies

Most frequently asked questions about glass rack dollies relate to capacity and operational features.

What Size of Racks Can You Carry with Glass Rack Dollies?

Glass rack dollies enable the operator to stack the glass racks on sturdy construction with a 20" (50.8 cm) base to accommodate 20" x 20" (50.8 x 50.8 cm) racks or a 27" (68.58 cm) width to hold two 13" x 26" (33.2 x 66.04 cm) glass baskets side by side.

Should You Buy a Glass Rack Dolly With a Handle?

It depends on your operational needs. If you use the glass rack dolly only to move glassware, you can stack the racks up to the waist height and push the dolly on the racks. However, when the rack stacks are lower, it is better to have a glass rack dolly with a handle to move it easily just by using the handle. Additionally, some units also have removable handles to allow you to install them only when needed.
