Self Serve Display Cases

Self-Serve Display Cases: Lower Labor Costs, Higher Visibility

Self-serve display cases are food display merchandising equipment designed to store and showcase fast foods, beverages, deli, cheese, and many prepackaged or unpackaged products. Food display cases showcase products and increase sales by maximizing space and improving a store's interior. Moreover, self-serve display cases also lower labor costs. They allow customers to pick up their grab-and-go food through the sliding doors and directly move to the checkout counter. You can continue loading more products from behind the counter through a rear opening.

Points to Consider When Buying Self-Serve Display Cases

Self-serve display cases are available in various sizes, styles, and shapes. Your available space, the products you want your customers to self-reach, and the general layout of your facility will specify your choice. For a more vivid presentation, you want a case that completes your décor.

• Refrigerated vs. Non-Refrigerated: Self-serve refrigerated display cases are perfect for products that may go stale quickly in ambient temperatures. For instance, self-serve bakery display cases need refrigeration to merchandise fruit pies or cheesecakes. They must also be refrigerated to keep cheeses, proteins, and other similar delicacies at safe temperatures. On the other hand, self-serve pastry display cases may not need to be refrigerated. So, it depends on what you plan to showcase in your self-serve display case.
• Upright vs. Horizontal: Self-serve display cases have shelves to hold products. Upright models usually feature 3 or more shelves. Therefore, they offer a large product presentation capacity in a small floor space. Horizontal display cases are often 2-tiered and larger in width to spread more products at once.
• Customizability: Self-serve display cases can have many features to create a stylish visual appeal. Sliding or lift-off doors, slanted or straight front panels, wire or clear glass shelves, and adjustable leg levelers or casters can each create a distinct merchandising effect. Therefore, you can choose a unit with customizable features for an eye-popping presentation matching the design of your front house.
