Low Temp Industries (LTI) is a family-owned supplier of modular and custom commercial serving counters, serving technologies, and mobile carts for restaurants, cafes, bars, hospitality businesses, and caterers. Established in 1947 by William B. Casey, Ed Rawls, and Polly Casey in Atlanta, Georgia, the company accelerated its growth in the 1960s by gaining contracts from the United States Military to supply steam tables, back-of-the-house equipment, and mail carts while expanding into restaurant seating with booth and wooden seating element manufacturing.
Low Temp Industries (LTI) enriched its product range with stainless steel kitchen equipment for American aircraft carriers and introduced the first soiled dish conveyor system in the 70s. The 1980s brought rapid growth in the production of front-of-the-house equipment for famous American restaurant chains such as Shoney's, Captain D's, and Hardee's. Fiberglass was used in equipment construction, such as the COLORPOINT series, particularly for educational institutions. During the '90s, the company spread its sales to all states and created a large network of sales representatives nationwide.
Low Temp Industries put much effort and resources into improving the foodservice operations, so the company has developed patented technologies for better performance. Introduced in 1995, Temp-est Aire technology enables air circulation under the pans to prevent the drying of the foods. Furthermore, LTI invented the QuickSwitch technology in 2012 to shift the food wells from hot to frozen in about an hour.
LTI now serves in its new headquarters in Jonesboro, GA, with about 150 employees and makes sales nationwide and in Canada. Retaining a large collection of modular serving units, Low Temp Industries also provides custom services ranging from customized foodcourt designs to serving counters turnkey serving solutions. Primarily serving K-12 institutions and university campuses nationwide, LTI has an online customization tool enabling operators to design their food serving counter and start the ordering process.
