Clear Ice for Beverage Service

The Vesta Precision IMT200 Skyra is a single-tray clear ice maker that forms ice directly inside food-grade silicone molds using directional freezing. Vesta Precision designed the Skyra for bars, restaurants, hotels and other businesses serving cold beverages. One batch yields 30 cubes, 25 small spheres, 16 large spheres, 24 ice bars or 30 diamonds, depending on the mold set in the tray. The ice comes out already shaped, so there is no block to cut or carve.

How the IMT200 Works

Directional freezing makes ice that is denser and melts more slowly than cloudy ice. Once the tray is loaded, a one-touch program fills the cabinet with water, freezes the batch, detaches the ice from the molds and then holds it in ice storage mode at 30.2°F (-1°C). A cycle takes 24-28 hours when ambient and water temperatures are below 25°C, and 32-36 hours above 25°C. Auto-defrost and self-evaporating functions are built in.

Water and Placement Requirements

The IMT200 needs a water supply line and a drain. The inlet takes a 1/2" BSP connection at 0.2-8 bar, and each cycle uses about 15 L of water. The drain hose must sit lower than the water outlet. Vesta Precision recommends filtered tap water or mineral water instead of distilled water for better clarity. Keep at least 3.9" (100 mm) of clearance around the cabinet and nothing underneath it, and use the universal wheels to move it into place.
